The term demography has been defined as the study of
components of population variation and change. It was applied in French
academic circles to statistics concerning the life coalitions of the people
especially those effecting health and mortality, but in modern usage it has
been restricted to the study of population, i.e. the quantitative analysis of
population structure and trend.
During the last million years a new and incredible thin
layer has spread over large part of the earth’s surface by the contact of air,
water and land. This layer is spread over man and his work. Thus, man being a
resource, helps himself for the development of his own society and country or a
region. In view of this, the study of human distribution and working force in
the development of the study area in a particular state and nation in general
is very essential.
