This study examines the impact of recreational games on the anxiety levels of male prisoners in Tihar Jail. Recognising the importance of addressing the mental health needs of incarcerated individuals, the research investigates how a twelve-week recreational games program influences psychological well-being. The study focuses on 60 male prisoners, divided into non-recurring and recurring groups, aged 21-36 years. Participants' anxiety levels were measured at the beginning of the study, every three weeks, and at the end of the program using the DASS-42 questionnaire.
Results indicated a significant reduction in anxiety levels for both groups, moving from extremely severe to moderate anxiety over the study period. The findings suggest that incorporating recreational games into prison rehabilitation programs can improve inmates' mental health, aid in their adjustment to incarceration, and support successful reintegration into society. The study calls for further research on broader populations and additional mental health variables to deepen understanding and validate these findings.

Education plays a vital role in improving life chances and promoting social development. However, children living in slum settlements often face serious obstacles that limit their access to schooling. Financial hardship affects families' ability to meet educational expenses, while poor housing conditions, inadequate public services, parental illiteracy, and insecure livelihoods further restrict children's participation in formal learning.
